  I had my wedding at the Newton White Mansion and while the venue is absolutely gorgeous I will have to agree with the others that gave 1 or 2 stars that the staff particularly the director are very difficult to work with and look for any reason to be inflexible, rigid, and unprofessional. I had to practically beg to use the venue because I had a caterer that was not on their short list (seriously only a handful are on their list) this is very limiting for anyone who has any reason to get another caterer. They are also somewhat prejudice and harder to work with if they know you are having a “cultural” wedding. I was told every restriction in the book because of my culture. I understand it’s a historic building but that doesn’t mean you can use that as reason to be rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Needless to say I wasn’t shocked when they refused to give me my almost 800.00 dollars deposit back! The reason...your guest broke one of our building rules at the reception. I still loved this building and for what I wanted it for it was great but it came with price. Use this if you can suck it up on the customer service issues and are okay that they may take your deposit. If you know for sure you will have every i dotted and every t crossed then go ahead and use this venue. I would have given one star but the venue is so gorgeous that I gave them 2 stars. Good Luck!
